How We Work

Understanding how the 10% ofany working population with Hidden Disabilities can best utilise their skills makes logical business sense. Under the DDA and Equality Act, there is also a legal responsibility for every business. Our consultancy operates looking at both the obligation and the opportunity.

We focus on providing practical strategies for recruitment, selection, performance appraisal, mentoring and advice on reasonable adjustment. We can assist through audit of existing practice, development of policy and implementation of new working practice. Policy

The creation of a disability policy is the first step in establishing a culture that clearly values employees for their abilities. Providing staff with clear leadership allows the development of operational activities within corporate guidelines.

Audit

Many organisations have addressed the needs of those with obvious disabilities as the situation arises. However hidden disabilities are the most likely to go undetected as many staff will not disclose their disability in what appears to be an unsympathetic environment. Our audits review employment and servie delivery against a best practice model as well as the requirements of the Equality Act and the public sector duties.

Process Development

We have years of experience in implementing adjustments for hidden disabilities through technology, job review and process design. We can advise on generic actions for documentation, IT support and recruitment, for example.
