Susan Mitchell - Workable Solutions

Workable Solutions is an organisation that specialises in ergonomic assessments, problem solving and training in the workplace. It was established in 1994 by Susan Mitchell who is a Chartered Physiotherapist. For the last fourteen years Workable Solutions has provided ergonomic and mobility workplace assessments for people with injuries or disabilities through the JobcentrePlus ‘Access to Work’ scheme.

Workable Solutions also works directly for businesses, Councils and other Government bodies. We conduct whole-company workstation audits, providing employers with detailed information of potential problems and ways to minimise risk and we carry out detailed workplace assessments for individuals who are experiencing symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders. These assessments go beyond the basic DSE requirements to understand the causes of the individual’s problems and find effective solutions.

All assessments are carried out on a one-to-one basis at the workplace by a Chartered Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with many years experience. The client has ample opportunity to explain and demonstrate their problems and difficulties and some immediate advice and guidance is provided. The assessment visit is followed up with a comprehensive report that includes information on any changes that might be needed and details of the advice given.

Training sessions for groups of staff are tailored to meet the needs of the organisation and are held at the workplace for the convenience of managers and staff.

Our team has expert knowledge of employer obligations and regulation and offers independent assessments designed to help employers comply with Health and Safety and Disability Discrimination legislation.

"Susan was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. She understood my issues at work totally, and they are not particularly straight-forward as I am self employed."
