Assessment
Workplace Assessments
All employers need their employees to deliver their best performace. When an employee has a disability the management process demands additional steps. Understanding how to support employees with a disability so that they can use their skills to best advantage makes logical business sense. Since the advent of the DDA and now the Equality Act, this is also a legal responsibility for every business. The key to enabling employees to use their strengths to best business advantage is to understand each individual's specific difficulties.
Access 2 Ability has carried out over 5,000 Workplace Assessments for people with disabilities.
Over 90% of those assessed rate the advice provided as excellent; 97% would recommend the process to their colleagues.
Each assessment considers the individual's specific challenges, the tasks involved with the job and the business performace required. The assessment process includes an interview with line management.
Suggestions for improvement may include:
- personal strategies and tactics
- technological assistance
- process change

The assessment report includes suggested adjustments and, where technology or training is involved, budget prices and suggested suppliers.
